Because…

…I ate a potato…

…Curiosity killed the cat…

…The sky is blue…

I will write something!

Defiantly not based on the because things though…

He sat down on the bench. A nice wooden on in the park outside of his house. The breeze was blowing causing smells of street food to flow past and into his nose. Then a  (why spelling do you do this?)  growl was heard. He looked down and agreed with himself. He needed to eat.

But. But he had no food of his own and no money. He couldn’t even beg because too many people stood on the side of the road just because they didn’t want to work. He couldn’t work. No sword skills no cooking experience either… Why? He ran from home when he got his first apprentice ship because he didn’t want to work. He tried begging… The beggers though all are from the slums and part of the blade gang. They defend their territory of free money well. Saddly that lesson took a few beatings to learn.

With no gang wanting him, being unable to beg, and no experience to speek of he was stuck. And should the fact that his name is Stuck be mentioned? Probably. He had hit the wall called his name.

Stuck got up from the bench that was nice but not all that comfotable. Quickly stretching he walked towards the food stands on the road. And when he was able to see them he jogged past a little shaky but continued on to the gate.

The city of Formess contains multiple districts. One in the north for nobles and the south for slums, not that it was usually counted. In the west you could find all the nicer inns and in the east the relaxing shopping district. He was in the east on the edge of the food and rather close to the slums. It had grown this year after all.

The gates are in the center of each district. Due East, West,    and North. The slums wasn’t a district after all it was originally the farmers homes and the other commoners but it had slowly decreased in wealth and fell into brokeness otherwise referred to as slums. They used the East enterance to bring in food and other crops as that was where they got proccessed and sold. And as that area was run by merchants any food not recorded was taken away and nothing was left for the farmers who grew it.

Standing at the East gate was Stuck. He quickly walked out when the one guard turned around and blended in with the merchants and their escorts as they moved in and out.

The escorts were mercenaries who guarded the carriages from bandits and anything else that would attack. However it was not easy to become a mercenary. You had to wield a sword or another weapon well to even be looked at and only the wealthy had access to weapons. They made it so in fear of rebellion and it worked however without weapons very few jobs could be found for the commoners and it lead to the downfall of that area.

Well… I got carried away… That was a fun background though!

Hope you enjoyed!
